Just a few days before her arrival to Athens for MIS Day, Dr. Shelly Akazany talks to the toothnews about MIS, the company whose motto Make It Simple, conquered one of the top places in the implant dentistry world.
Dr. Akazany, you are the MIS Implants Product Manager, so we believe you are most suitable to answer to this question: What differentiates MIS from other Implant Companies?
In 2 words: MIS spirit. I will try to make it more tangible: As you know, MIS started as a small family business of 2 brothers with a dream… and evolved throughout the years to what it is today – a state of the art center of expertise, and one of the world’s leaders in the implant dentistry field. This excellent achievement was only possible because of the passion, creative thinking and persistence that characterize the unique MIS spirit.
Make it Simple is the MIS philosophy, but in what ways is this value manifested to the dentist?
Simplicity is indeed the mechanism we’re always thinking through. Simplicity is also the best added value that MIS can provide the doctors who use our products. When the work is simpler for our customers, their results are better. We offer simplicity in different aspects of our service and solutions. I’ll give a few examples: simplicity through the procedures our products allow; For instance, a single use, perfect fit, sterile final drill in every implant package. Simple also means safe and predictable; this, we offer through a scientifically proven product quality that ensures successful results, such as the MIS implants surface.
Lately MIS has become known for its very innovative products, like the V3 and MGUIDE. What more can we expect from MIS? What are some of the new MIS solutions?
As part of MIS R&D and Products divisions approach to supporting doctors’ needs worldwide, and therefore offering simple solutions that promote biologic and esthetic success, we recently launched the MIS CONNECT. The CONNECT abutment system enables the entire prosthetic procedure and restoration to occur far from the bone, and at any level of the connective tissue. This new exciting development basically provides a “one abutment – one time” with all the absolute benefits of a tissue level restoration, and directly corresponds to the market trends in our industry – broadening the range of screw retained solutions and CAD/CAM restoration planning.

I would like to congratulate Negrin In Dental, a long-time and great partner and friend to MIS, for this special event. MIS is very proud to have advanced Greek clinicians using our systems for many years, providing valuable feedback and also, of course, joining us in such occasions as this one in Athens. I’m personally very happy to take part in the scientific program and am excited to hear the fascinating lectures by the top speakers who have honored us with their participation.
